"Ok… it’s time to get things moving for your trip to India!
Next week I will be sending you flight and insurance booking forms. These will contain important information about your departure including flight numbers, dates and times."
Wow. So next week I'll know what day and what plane I'll be on? I should start preparing.
And prepare I shall. And what does this mean? Time to unlock my Trailblazer Award!
The Trailblazer Award requires me to do three things:
1)
Fundraise a minimum of $500
I need to explore how to raise money for a good reason in a fun way to help fundraise for my travel costs. I have yet to decide how to fundraise this much money.
2)
Volunteer for at least eight hours
The
idea is to use my time and energy volunteering
to
help a person, an organisation, a community and/or the environment. Today, I called up the Royal Institute of Deaf and Blind Children and fortunately for me, I will be going in for an interview sometime next week. Fingers crossed!
3)
Tell us about a social issue that means something to you
This has to be a social issue that means something to me and spread awareness about it. Two of my high school friends are also volunteering with Lattitude and Young People Without Borders so together we went back to our high school and gave a speech on a social issue that is important to us. Mine was about Modern Day Slavery. If you want to hear more about it, this is a blog that I made that provides more information.
Through videos, photographs and this blog, I'll document my mission on unlocking the Trailblazer Award. I am ready!
